Newsletter July 2010

Well Cheltenham is almost upon us again. Whilst we will be there with our tent on the first day of each of the Championship matches (30th July and 4th August) it will not display Jack’s paintings as in previous years. Instead there will be publicity promoting a new art book we are about to embark upon and Cheltenham cricket festival will be the start. Jack Russell will be in attendance painting scenes from the ground.

The format of the book, which is to be called Eighteen County’s, will feature sketches and paintings from each of our first class counties, both at their respective HQ’s and their festival venues. Well known players and characters that Jack either played against or encountered during his 22 years as a Gloucestershire player spanning the years 1981 - 2003 will feature in this publication.

This project although exciting will demand a great deal of travel and hard work to achieve the eclectic mix of subject matter necessary to fill the pages of a book aimed at the cricket lover through the eyes of one of the great players of his time. We will let you have news of expected publication in time; first we must give Jack the space needed to allow him to get some paint on canvas!
Come and see him in action at Cheltenham.
